Regional Pilot Grant Scheme: Info Sessions in 4 Regions
11 April 2018
The launch of the Regional Pilot Grant Scheme in the framework of RDPA, which aims to support in all territory of Albania small-scale local infrastructure projects and improve regional and local capacities, was followed by the organization of 6 Info Sessions in each Area for Regional Development. The Info Sessions organized in close collaboration with the four Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), aimed at informing and guiding the Albanian Municipalities for this funding opportunity.
The info sessions took place in Tirana, Fier, Shkodra, Korca and Vlora and constituted an opportunity for the participants; mayors and representatives from the 61 Municipalities, to learn more on the Regional Pilot Grant Scheme. Under the lead of the RDA General Directors and the RDPA Team Leader, the Info Sessions covered key issues focusing on the eligible applicants, actions and costs as well as guidance on the application process. Participants, had also the chance to receive answers to their questions on the application process for the Regional Pilot Grant Scheme.
The Regional Pilot Grant Scheme, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA) will be implemented in close partnership with the four Regional Development Agencies, targeting the 61 municipalities in the four Areas for Regional Development of Albania. For the first time in Albania, an institutional mechanism is introduced where regional-level institutions do perform grant managing functions. Thus, each RDA is in charge for the evaluation, selection and monitoring of projects under the Pilot Regional Grant Scheme. In this context, the Regional Pilot Grant Scheme aims also to contribute to the EU integration process of Albania, by mirroring good practice in the European Union for this type of instrument.
