Launching of the RDPA grant scheme in support to earthquake affected areas in Albania

The Regional Development Program in Albania (RDPA), a project of SDC and ADA, on July 20, 2020 launched the Grant Scheme in support of areas affected by the earthquake, in an activity held at the premises of the Durres Amphitheatre.

This activity took place, under the special participation of H.E. Adrian Maitre, Ambassador of Switzerland to Albania, Mrs. Simone Ungersbock head of the Austrian Development Agency, Executive Director of the Albanian Development Fund, Mr. Dritan Agolli, Executive Director of the Association for Local Autonomy Mrs. Adelina Farrici as well as the representatives of 11 Municipalities, affected by the November earthquake, potential beneficiaries of this Grant Scheme.

Mr. Carl Heller, Head of the Regional Development Program in Albania, stated that the RDPA, through this scheme with a total grant of 2 million EURO, aims to support all communities and local government units directly affected by the earthquake to address complex development challenges in their territories, based on the identified potentials, following the strategic orientations of the recovery plan.
