RDPA Regional Pilot Grant Scheme Launched
61 Municipalities of Albania, have the opportunity to apply for funding, to support small-scale local infrastructure projects and improve regional and local capacities.
Regional Development Programme Albania, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and the Austrian Development Agency (ADA), is pleased to launch the Call for Applications in the framework of the Pilot Regional Grant Scheme. This scheme aims to support in all territory of Albania small-scale local infrastructure projects and improve regional and local capacities.
The Regional Pilot Grant Scheme, with a fund of 822,000 Euros (including VAT) will be implemented in close partnership with the four Regional Development Agencies, targeting the 61 municipalities in the four Areas for Regional Development of Albania. For the first time in Albania is introduced a mechanism where regional institutions will enjoy managing functions. Thus each RDA will be in charge for the evaluation, selection and monitoring of the Pilot Regional Grant Scheme. In this context, the Regional Pilot Grant Scheme aims also to contribute to the EU integration process of Albania, by mirroring good practice in the European Union for this type of instrument.
Grant amounts from 24,000 Euro up to 60,000 Euro are available for project proposals from Municipalities in specific areas of regional development, such as: interventions to improve educational services, sports, tourism and cultural infrastructure, social local services, local transport facilities, etc.. Additionally the projects will aim to directly improve the socio economic conditions of the local communities by addressing small-scale local investment solutions to provide quality of life among communities.
The Call for Proposals will be open until 21 May 2018, 12:00 and during this period Informing Sessions will be conducted in each Area for Regional Development, where interested actors and potential applicants will be informed and discuss all the steps, processes and related documents in the framework of the Scheme.
Applications should be submitted in accordance with the instructions in the grant application and budget forms annexed to the call for proposals (Annex A and B). Applicants must apply in Albanian. However, the ‘Executive Summary of the Action’ is to be provided in both Albanian and English.
