The rehabilitation of the irrigation canal Malaj Tarazh

Thanks to the support of the Swiss and Austrian governments, the Municipality of Mirdita has finalized a project much awaited by farmers and residents of the Malaj-Tarazh area. It is about the rehabilitation of the irrigation canal Malaj Tarazh, the length of which goes up to 9.8 km, covers about 490 ha of land and from which benefit 378 families.

The irrigation canal provides water from the Malaj natural reservoir and enables residents to increase production capacity for the area’s characteristic fruit crops.

Within this project, the inaugural event was accompanied by a fair organized in Rrëshen with agro-producers and craftsmen of Mirdita.
